Looking back at 2019, I never gave it enough credit. Pusarla Venkata Sindhu lead India to victory in the Women's singles, at the 2019 BWF World Championships. And I was proud because shes always carried herself with such humility, despite the accolades and she deserved to look at the world from up above. When I got the opportunity to write for the champion and a couple of seconds to spare, I wanted to somehow let her know that she has done more for dreamers out there than she can imagine, that even if I wasnt an ardent follower of badminton, Id still vouch for her, more so because through it all, Ive felt like the world didnt change who she was. That she was defined by all the effort she put in throughout the years. There are a handful of people, Id probably see and everything around would freeze over, Shes one of them! So my hope is that perhaps in another 20 years, as she goes through all her memories, she'll come across my poem and itll remind her of who she'll always be! • the queen who travelled with her throne • - Lady Lazarus
P.S. Yes, I know the snap shouldve been clearer but this was fast and this is all I could get.
