I remember meeting the founders of Maatam and how I absolutely loved what they do but it took me the Second Edition to extend my support to the team. As I slowly inch towards 30, I keep looking for reasons each day to keep doing what I do and Maatam gave me just that, enough incentive to keep at it. Conversations with others should ideally be a learning experience, or at least that’s what I believe and this time around, most of those who came by to talk to me were walking miracles, having gone through their share of ups and downs, yet having retained their spirit to live fully, embracing all of life’s wholesomeness. They were patient, kind and grateful. After a few minutes into speaking, we had together transcended onto a different plane. We had fun too, talking of our pasts and the children within us. At the end of one of these conversations, I asked, ‘How did you make it?’ He said, ‘Because I wanted to live. I didn’t want to die.’ Today, my soul has rested much before my body would.
